‘The Killer’: First Look At David Fincher’s Assassin Thriller Starring Michael Fassbender

We’ve been patiently waiting for a good look at David Fincher‘s upcoming feature film “The Killer,” an assassin thriller based on a French graphic novel, “Le Tueur.” Andrew Kevin Walker, the screenwriter who adapted the source material has previously worked with Fincher on “Seven,” “Fight Club,” and “The Game.” Starring as the titular killer is Michael Fassbender with Tilda Swinton (“Curious Case of Benjamin Button“) and Charles Parnell (“Top Gun: Maverick,” “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning“) taking supporting roles in the film. But it’s Fassbender who is now behind our first real glimpse at the crime thriller that will debut on Netflix.

Fassbender’s racing YouTube series “Michael Fassbender’s Road To Le Mans“ (See below) from the Porsche channel features some first-look, behind-the-scenes footage from “The Killer” where you can see the actor doing some rear projection work in a Los Angeles studio alongside Fincher. This would be the first time we’re getting such a great look at his assassin character from the film and Fincher doing some directing as well.

Here is the synopsis of the original French graphic novel by Matz via Amazon:

A man solitary and cold, methodical and unencumbered by scruples or regrets, the killer waits in the shadows, watching for his next target. And yet the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind, if not his cool. A brutal, bloody and stylish noir story of a professional assassin lost in a world without a moral compass, this is a case study of a man alone, armed to the teeth and slowly losing his mind.

“The Killer” is expected to be a true globetrotting assassin story as filming had taken place in multiple other locations outside of L.A. such as Paris, New Orleans, Chicago, and the Dominican Republic. We’re still waiting for Netflix to give us an official release date, but there is an expectation it will be ready for next year.

You can see that set footage of “The Killer” below and we’ll have to be grateful for these crumbs ahead of the trailer and images start making their way online.
